HOW DO WE FOOTWORK?
Living your life well means feeling you belong within a place; having strong relationships with the people around you; and being able to contribute to shaping the place where you live. This belief is strongly supported by what we are learning from local innovators
Simply stated, locally-driven place-making works. It....
Footwork's role is to share this knowledge to raise awareness and rebuild trust. We are using it to educate and influence those involved in place-making, to make the process more locally-driven, more collaborative and therefore more equitable
WHY IS OUR LEARNING IMPORTANT?
Over the years Footwork has found that when ideas for change are locally-driven, based on identified need and informed by local knowledge and experience, they have lasting impact. This is why we must encourage local social innovation and demonstrate how and why it works
But at the moment the actions they take to help their communities to thrive, aren't really known about or valued. So Footwork makes sure that our work is sufficiently recognised for the important part it plays in bringing about lasting positive change
WE HAVE A HUNCH...
WHAT IF WE COULD ENABLE MORE OF THIS?
We support you to turn a bold idea into lasting positive change for other people and places
We're building a body of knowledge of how to empower people to create resilient places
We nurture and share this valuable resource, to influence how places should be shaped in the future: with investment in regeneration that recognises the invaluable role people play in creating thriving places
