Take Note is an ambitious Footwork-supported initiative that advocates for collaborative best practice and sparks and supports extraordinary artistic partnerships between unlikely allies to deliver real, long-lasting change.
Take Note has developed an innovative model in which funding for partnership projects is provided alongside strategic support to help maximise the impact and success of the collaboration. It works with organisations from the initial collaborative planning and preparation stages through to jointly delivering artistic activity and post-project reflection and collective evaluation.
"Collaboration can contribute substantially to impact on partner organisations and to social impact in communities." NPC report on Take Note
Take Note's evaluation with research partners New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) found that collaboration can be a valuable tool for enhancing social impact, and that the Take Note approach and tools amplified partnership projects’ ambition and impact in local communities.

“There needs to be support and recognition for the Take Note model within the sector at a higher level. Particularly in the context of placemaking. Towns and cities could benefit massively from this, it gets people to think about healthy collaboration. The point of a project like this one is not just the final output but also the relationships formed to create that output – that is its legacy.” Director, First Light Festival, Take Note-supported partner
