Our Why
Kilburn has a highly active community with growing demand for accessible community spaces and affordable workspaces. Many neighbouring estates lack TRA (tenants and residents) facilities and there are no free or low-cost meeting or events spaces in the neighbourhood. There is a high demand for affordable workspace in the area to support local businesses, creatives and voluntary sector organisations.
Our Idea
We're aiding the transition of Kingsgate community centre into a community-run neighbourhood space in collaboration with One Kilburn. Our idea is to re-open the building as a welcoming, resident-led space that supports local activities, connection and shared use. By coordinating groups, programming and partnerships, the centre could once again become a valued neighbourhood hub that reflects local needs and builds long-term community ownership.
107 Kingsgate Community Centre is a former neighbourhood facility with strong local significance. This project focuses on reactivating the space through community facilitation, collaboration and care, creating the foundations for a sustainable, inclusive centre shaped by residents and local groups.

About
107 Working Group
107 Kingsgate Community Centre is a former neighbourhood facility with strong local significance. This project focuses on reactivating the space through community facilitation, collaboration and care, creating the foundations for a sustainable, inclusive centre shaped by residents and local groups.
The 107 Working Group sits within the Places and Spaces subgroup of One Kilburn and has been established to shape the vision and next steps for 107 Kingsgate, as part of what is being developed as the Kilburn Space Lab.
The working group is made up of active members of One Kilburn and representatives from local organisations, and works in collaboration with officers from Camden Council. Its main task is to co-develop the brief for both the vision and the building works required to transform 107 Kingsgate into a shared civic space.
An equally important role of the 107 Working Group is to ensure ongoing communication and transparency by sharing updates and progress with the wider One Kilburn network.
Alice and Rosana are both members of this group.
